Melinda and Dave, Engagement Portrait in Sunny Sydney

| Thursday, July 9, 2009

This was one of the things I had been looking forward to the most during our trip over east. I hadn't seen Melinda and Dave in about 4 years! I once worked with the totally GORGEOUS Mel on Hamilton Island in the Islands' Photo Shop and we even shared a house for a while, so it was fantastic to catch up and share in this fabulous time with them both.

While it completely SUCKS that we cant share their wedding with them in February, as we are booked for weddings here in WA, It was an absolute joy to spend a few hours traipsing around The Rocks and Milson's Point in Sydney Town, capturing both an Awesome city and two completely amazing people in LOVE!

We started off in The Rocks. I totally love this part of Sydney (as long as you ignore the overly touristy areas) as the history practically seeps out of the walls of stone that were cut by the convicts back in the 18th century. Im a huge fan of the book "Playing Beatie Bow" from when I was a kid, and I always wonder what it would have really been like all that tiime ago.

Melinda is so unbelievably beautiful. Dave is a supremely lucky man!

There were all these cool signs on the little terrace houses telling us about the history of the area, who lived where...who died from smallpox when...too cool :)

So, we need to show off a little of what Sydney is famous for...

Seriously...could she be ANY cuter?

A quick taxi ride later and we find ourselves at Milson's Point, home of Luna Park! (I suggested walking over the bridge and was scoffed at. apparently only TOURISTS do that! Opps!)

The impending sunset lit up the bridge like it was made of gold..YUMMY!

The rain supplied us with a little artistic licence :)

We headed into the ultra cool 'Deck Bar' for the most AMAZING espresso cocktail ive ever had the pleasure of drinking and on the way out I had to get one last ultra romantic shot.

What a fabulous afternoon. Thanks so much for giving us this opportunity and for sharing with us your amazing happiness and joy. I really need to invent a duplicating machine so I can be both here and there in February. Anyone want to make one for me??

and a super quick flashback.... from those happy times pre engagements, husbands, weddings and businesses, when were were happy-go-lucky island dwellers....with our other housemate Amy. Love ya MellyBean
