Inaugural Wedding Of The Year Competition

| Friday, May 30, 2008

Yes its That time of the year again...things slow down and we all take a big DEEP breath and take stock on the previous 10 months of Spectacular, Emotional, Fabulous and Beautiful Weddings!

And SOOOOOO...
Its now time to Launch the inaugural
2007-2008 Wedding of The Year Competition!!

On our Competition Page is a single image from each wedding I have had the privilege to be a part of this season. Its been a difficult choice to narrow down each wedding to a single image, but the ones chosen are, in my opinion, the ones that best encompass the wedding as a whole, show off the couples personalities... show off a particular aspect of that wedding I liked best... or maybe just because i like it!

This is the exciting part!!

Over the next 30 days you may vote on your favorite image, or your favorite couple! The image with the most votes on the 1st of July will win for its Feature Couple a Free Enlargement valued at $220! One runner up will receive an enlargement valued at $90.

Commenter's will be in the running for a prize too! A special number has been chosen at random and the person who owns that particular comment number will win a $10 iTunes voucher!

So head on over and Vote for your Favorite!

Some of you may remember last weekend....it was almost like a cyclone here in Bunbury... I woke up in the morning took one look at the weather and thought...OMG there goes their beach wedding idea!

But come 3pm...and an hour down the road in Dunsborough...and the weather was PERFECT! you would never be able to tell it was still bucketing in Bunbury :)

Ceremony and Reception - Whalers Cove Holiday Resort, Dunsbrough
Celebrant - Annette Johnston

My 'Arty' ring shot.... I should get hired by Heineken to do their advertising shots

A pensive Martin....

Such an AWESOME place for a wedding! The front 4 holiday houses at Whalers Cove face right onto the beach, literally a 30 second walk from back porch to the surf :)

Photobucket

The ceremony was witnessed by a small intimate crowd of family and close friends, who were all just so happy to be a part of their big day. Usually its the flower girls who steal the show, but Martins Ring Bearer was such a little show off...he is going to break a few hearts one day!

Jacqui, Martin and I wandered down the road for a little while, just seeing what we could play with nearby. The recent rain made the greenery SHINE!

The beach was slightly...um...shall we say...seaweedy? not really the best for a good beach shot, but we found this cute little wooden gangplank.

One of the cottages at Whalers Cove has this awesome 'Turret' to play Rapunzel with...and this totally FABULOUS front door that had opening portals...just begging for a play.

More Wedding-of-the-Century Planning!!

| Wednesday, May 14, 2008

I THINK I'm slowly getting there with this wedding planning plava... Its proving FAR more difficult than i ever though.... But with only 4 months to go Im pretty sure its all coming together nicely :)

Here is my Dream Team....The best of of suppliers in the South West....grab them up for your weddings ladies and gents because they are THE BOMB!!

Photographer - Pixel Magix - The most fabulous pair ever

Videographer - Supernova - Mark is a star and his wife is just so lovely :)

DJ - DJ Darren!!! The man is a genius behind the turntable (CD player??) he does get snapped up super quick so grab him fast!

Transport - Australias Own FJHoldens - Jen and Michael from FJ Holdens are two of the fabbest people... the guys are a bundle of laughs, their cars are spectacular and they are all such professionals.

Hair and Makeup - For Weddings and a Party - Ive done several weddings where Kirsty has done the makeup and she is a genius! If anyone can make me look semi OK for my big day it is she...

Flowers - Bunbury Flower Place - Trena is an absolute GEM! I have done work with her before producing a Flower Album last year, so i know how fab her flowers are, and when i came to her with a 'I want a bouquet that kinda looks like this, with this bit here and kinda like this photo but not quite, but with this trailing thingo here' she knew exactly what i was on about! So nice to have someone who can read your mind.

Reception - Meadowbrooke Estate, Boyanup - see previous post for my gushings

Ceremony - At my folks farm in Donnybrook!! Cant wait for this as its so important to me to have this connection. Make sure when your planning your Big Day, choose places or things that not only look amazing, but strike a personal chord with you both. Your wedding day is probably the most important day of you life up to this point, so make is super special by choosing things that have sentimental feelings behind them.

Celebrant - Annette Johnston - Fabulous lady based in Donnybrook, and close family friend. She is the epitome of professionalism for your wedding ceremony and always looks so spiffy :) Definitely recommend her for your big day.

Invitations and Stationary - Vistaprint and Stampers Den- Vistaprint is a fabulous online site for getting your invites professionally printed without having it cost you a fortune. The Stampers Den is a fabby scrap booking store in Bunbury that has every kind of paper you could possibly imagine!

Wedding Accommodation - The Clifton, Bunbury - This place is soooooooooo beautiful. You really feel like your in Edwardian time staying here, BUT you get an awesome spa as well!

oh and this is the current idea for the Bonboneire.... PWETTY

Meadowbrooke Estate!!

This is where we are holding our Wedding Reception!! YAY!!!!

Meadowbrooke Estate

I'm so excited, and just SO happy its finally sorted...and only 4 1/2 months to go as well.... Our original plan wasn't working so we needed to find somewhere else, and finding a Saturday free was quite amazing. I guess holding your wedding on Grand Final Day does have some advantages :)

If your looking for somewhere to hold your wedding, DEFINATLY check this place out. Its full of rustic country garden charm, the food looks amazing, they have accomodation on site so you can stagger to bed... AND the ceremony area is so beautiful... Check out Russell and Fran's Day to get an idea....

The girls got ready at an awesome house in Yallingup/Dunsbrorough called Ionise, 3 bedroom luxury holiday accommodation. Just stunning set in natural bushland. Made for amazing images.

Off back to Busselton for the ceremony....

St Mary's so such a beautiful church....if a tad tiny :)

With a 4.30pm ceremony we only had 30 Min's of photo time before sunset, so we made the most of the beautiful area around St Mary's, and of course the fabulous architecture of the Church itself. I LOVE the blue doors....

Photobucket

Trena's bouquet was beautiful, and featured a broach owned by Brent's Late-Mother, a beautiful way to incorporate her into their special day....

We popped down to the beach for 5 Min's just after sunset and captured that amazing bluey light you find at that time... now...don't move anyone!!!

Off to Clairult Winery near Margret River for the Reception. Its a fabulous Winery, so beautiful. Its probably the one time Ive wished for daylight savings so we could have played in the vines...BUT a full moon poking though the clouds did bring this opportunity...

Photobucket

The reception room looked amazing, and their bonbon's were Breast Cancer Ribbons, which i think was a wonderful touch....

Congratulations!!! It was a beautiful, classy, fabulous and fun day...
