Carly and Troy, Engagement portrait!

|

I finally got to meet with Carly and Troy last Thursday. We had been emailing back and forth for MONTHS trying to find a time to get together for their pre wedding shoot, and as their wedding is THIS Friday, we got in just in time :)

Carly and Troy live in the middle of nowhere, out past Narrogin, but chose Perth for their wedding next weekend, and me for their photographer!

We popped down the park for a few shots, and was greeted by a torrential downpour! who would have thought in the middle of summer?? But it didn't last long so we braved the showers and headed out.

Happy 2 Years Johnboy!!!

| Sunday, February 15, 2009

Today is the 2 year anniversary of our engagement!!!!

It was a VERY unexpected engagement because we had only been "Going Out" for 5 months, and only living together for 2. We had been talking about it, because I knew he was The One, but i just assumed it wouldn't be for AGES.

Its also not the most exciting of proposals, no fireworks, no rosepetals on the bed, no 50m signs over the freeway, no expensive dinners out. He simply told me how much he loved me, how happy I made him, and how he wanted to spend every day with me. We were just sitting in our loungeroom of our little house in Bridgetown (where we were living at the time) and watching Gilmore Girls.

I was crying (because we all know im a huge wussy sook) and instead of a tissue, he handed me a ring.
It was by far the most romantic thing that has ever happened to me, because it was REAL.

So Thankyou John for being the most romantic, most wonderful, most fabulous, most unexpected, and most amazing man Ive ever met. You have given me more joy than I ever thought humanly possible.

South West Pajama Drive!

| Friday, February 13, 2009

I was just sent an email form my Hubby, who works at GWN, about a Pajama Drive being held next week, for the victims of the Victorian Bushfires. Its being organised by Jenny Cross and Denise Tucker from Jetset Busselton.

Dear Friends

NEW PYJAMA DRIVE – MITCHELL PARK BUSSELTON

All of us, at some stage, have had “pyjama moments” and found our “jammies” very snug and comforting. We hope this drive will bring comfort to many and grant sweet dreams to all people, big and small. We have the support of Aileen Earl, Coordinator for the Red Cross in Busselton, who will oversee the items to Victoria, once the drive is complete next Thursday.

The NEW Pjs will also lessen the load of the coordinators and volunteers, because they will be new (less sorting required). Everyone loves something new to make them feel special.

If anyone is available to help out next Thursday morning, even for a very short time, we would be very grateful. We will need some help with packing and storing the pjs. We will have four trucks, one each for boys, girls, men and women, for the pjs to be placed in. Boxes will also be provided.

The flyer is self explanatory. For further enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact Denise or Jenny on the phone numbers provided.

Thank you so much for your support. We are sure your contribution will help make this drive a HUGE SUCCESS.

Kind regards
Denise Tucker 0428 441 590
Jenny Cross 0407 523 377 (jetsetjenny@westnet.com.au)

So make sure you get down to Busselton next Thurday, in your Pj's if you want, to donate a new pair of Jammies for those people in Victoria.

Nicky and Bryce, Engagement Portrait

| Thursday, February 12, 2009

Im on a roll today!!

I met with Nicky and Bryce down in Busselton yesterday for their portrait shoot. They are another referral from Trena and Brant! (I need to start paying them a commission I think :) ) And again, another couple I hadn't met before now.

I'm so in love with Nicky (sorry Brant) because she is the CUTEST thing ever and has the most amazing eyes!!! They brought along their totally adorable dog Imogen, who was mightily well behaved!

Thanks so much guys for making the time to come down from Katanning. It always amazes me when people come from so far for portraits. Totally LOVE my clients.

Zoe and Paul engagement portrait :)

|

Zoe and Paul are a referral from Trena and Brant, who were married last April, and we hadn't met before the Pre Wedding Portrait! I find that alot with people who get referred by past clients, they trust enough to know I will do an awesome job, and if they have seen me in action before they know I'm a bundle of laughs. (and I know they don't think I'm too insane haha)

Zoe and Paul hail from Mt Barker (where I actually have family ...and they have awesome chicken there too) are are getting married on Zoe's parents farm in Boyup Brook in April. They came all the way to Bunbury for their shoot! Aww I feel loved :)

We went to the beach, as its usually a tad far for photos from Mt Barker! The sky was AWESOME!!! love this sort of weather.

Carole and Drew, 31st January 2009

|

Such a Lovely Lovely Lovely day :) I love it when people do their weddings THEIR way, the way they want to. And if that means having your photos before the ceremony so you get to spend more time having fun, or having your Husband to Be help you put on your dress...then so be it!!

Ceremony and Reception - Abbey Beach Resort Busselton
Celebrant - Jennifer Etherington (my personal favorite celebrant...she is just fabulous)
Flowers - Avardia Floral Design Busselton
Decoration - Wez Enterprises
Ceremony Setup - Milieu

Photobucket

So we started with the usual details and getting ready's, with the slight difference of everyone getting ready together! I love the idea of such a communal celebration and joy in their togetherness. Carole and Drew are just two of the loveliest people, and their bridal party of their closet friends were fabulous people altogether. It almost felt like a school camp! (in a non-teenage angst kinda way)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

So they were all glammed up and we headed off for photos. Carole and Drew had chosen a 6pm beach ceremony, so we did the bridal party shoot before the festivities! Its a great way to ensure you have a fabulous celebration during and after the ceremony, and far more time being with your loved ones.

Photobucket

Abbey beach Resort is such a beautiful place. You are not short on fabulous places to have your photos done.

Photobucket

Photobucket

One of my favorite ways to get real emotion and expressions is to get people to whisper something naughty in the ear of their betrothed.... it never fails to get an awesome laugh or shocked expression!! :)

Photobucket

GORGEOUS flowers!! Avadia really are just fantastic.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Can i hear a OMG is she a Supermodel????

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

We also broke with tradition and did the traditional family photos before the ceremony! I LOVE this image for Carole and her mum, soooo sweet. Carole's mum was too cool :)

Photobucket

The ceremony on the beach in front of Abbey Beach resort was so touching. Now I'm a big wuss when it comes to soppy stuff and usually cry at most ceremonies, but drew not only had me crying, but about 99% of the guests with his absolutely beautiful vows he has written for Carole. Awwwww I'm tearing up again thinking about it.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Drew's niece graced us all with two beautiful songs during the ceremony. That girl has an amazing voice. Next Australian idol perhaps?

Photobucket

Cocktails and hugs came next and then off to the Abbey Bar for the reception. The cake and room looked amazing thanks to the fabulous duo at Wez Enterprises.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Carole and Drew had been given a Scottish Quaich (traditional wedding cup) from Drew's Scottish relatives, and this was passed around the bridal party and family as part of a Scottish wedding tradition.

Photobucket

Lovely Lovely day, thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your celebrations. Your both totally gorgeous people!!!
